In this exciting and challenging workshop you will learn to paint water, reflections and trees, working wet-into-wet!
Includes:
- Breakfast, lunch, afternoon breaks and meet and greet reception
- All workshop classrooms
Instructor, Kathleen Giles, will demonstrate her “damp brush” technique giving students a new confidence over the medium. The artist will demonstrate how to achieve incredibly realistic looking paintings that still have what she calls “spirit”. From choosing the best references to using the computer to plan a strong value pattern, all aspects of the painting process will be discussed and demonstrated. A strong emphasis will be made on the importance of knowing the properties of your colors and how best to use them in different parts of any painting. Mixing a variety of greens and using color compliments will be taught. This color knowledge along with value and the use of hard and soft edges, will give you the tools to create your best dramatic paintings.
This workshop is for students with some experience to advanced students. Students must have their own supplies. All references will be provided prior to the workshop along with an e-mail from Kathleen with her palette, supply suggestions and tips for drawing.
*If workshop not filled by registration date, SunCliff reserves the right to cancel this workshop with a full refund.
