A lot of Erica and Damien’s inspiration for writing comes from their shared passion for traveling around the world and the love they share for their daughter, Juliet.

Erica Schlaffer and Damien Johnson teach English Literature and Creative Writing to high school students in Western MA. Their masters’ degrees focused on literature and creative written expression. Erica’s poetry has been published in university publications, and she is part of a team reviewing poets’ submissions for the Common Ground publication.
This five-day workshop is intended to assist you as a non-professional writer in finding your own voice. You will be writing and workshopping poetry, creative non-fiction, short stories and plays. We will host poetry readings and impromptu performances, and you will also have time to retreat to the quiet of your room or to the lakeshore to finish something you started in class.
